Plein air in Longmont Colorado

Just finished the plein air in Longmont at Kanemoto Park. A large Japanese structure dominates this park but I painted the stream and trees nearby with pastels.

Its going. going, going

Spring has sprung in the Rocky Mountains and the plein air events are about to start. I have been invited to three events but I am committed to only one "Western Light" being held in Boulder, Colorado in August.

I've sold my home and studio in Northern Colorado and am moving to Thornton. I also bought a second home which will include a studio space in Gilbert Arizona. It is exciting but at the same time very stressful to move!

Held over for a second month

Master's Fine Art has decided to hold my show over another month! Another reception too! What incredible news. Linda King said, "Your show is the most beautiful I have ever had at the gallery, I'd like to hold it over another month if you don't mind." I didn't mind!

Carl Sutter from Crossroads in Loveland is on for that night! Can you donate a gallery ready art piece for the silent auction?

July issue of American Art Collector

American Art Collector July issue includes an interview about my art on page 182! The publisher called me back after reviewing the art I submitted for the June issue! Please look at the other information I have in the magazine on pages 38 and 73. I've worked 35 years to get into a magazine of this calibre.

Article in American Art Collector June Issue

American Art Collector interviewed me for the June Issue 2010. The article "Colorado" on page 120 for the Plein Air Artists Colorado features the painting I posted with this blog. I was so excited but that was doubled when they called me back and did a feature in the July Issue of my art work.

I took first place at the Art Association of Northern Colorado "Celebration of Color" show last Friday night! It is exciting to be finally getting somewhere!

I am busy, busy trying to get everything ready for the gallery opening in Ft. Collins, Colorado. I hung the $100 wall today where originals are for sale $100 or less. They were paintings I did in a workshop or some older items. If you are near stop by for some FREE food, fun and frolic this Friday night! The gallery is all decorated for Christmas.

Bloging away

Minnie the Moocher eyeballed my son at Petsmart and he brought her home. She was very close to starvation but with lots of love she is recovering. Our whole family
has always had lots of dogs. I took this portrait myself and photoshoped the heck out of it. However, it is Miinnies face.

I am off to Estes Park to drop off for the show "Lines into Shapes." I got azure shores into this show and hope to take home a ribbon.......we can always hope can't we.

Alaska and no baking involved

Alaska and no baking involved

What happens when you go a little far afield? Sometimes you get blessed! I sent my application in for the State Parks in Alaska "Top 30." I had to paint like crazy to get the
oil and pastels done in time, but I made it. Today, wham-mo, I get this email saying that many people did not qualify, so I am getting upset. Then I look at the bottom and there
are TWO of my oils accepted in their show in Anchorage. I leaped up and danced around a little and called my husband. I have to get cracking because the one painting is not framed. Off I go to the framer but I have put the piece on the gallery wrap canvas. I should have known that Mike would find a way to make it stunning. He put a piece of
molding along the back of the frame to hold it off the wall. It will be incredible. I am hoping it sells.
